My name is Sakamoto Yasukazu, and I serve as the President of Rokken Inc.
Rokken Inc. derives its name from the "Sixth Laboratory of Intelligent Information Engineering," abbreviated as Rokken, which was managed by Professor Hiroshi Tsuji, the former president of Osaka Prefecture University, during his tenure in the Department of Intelligent Information Engineering.
As our company name suggests, we operate as a research-oriented system implementation company with an academic research mindset, motivated to undertake commissioned development projects that extend to societal implementation, which is often unattainable during master's or doctoral programs.
We employ individuals with experience in AI research and Computer Graphics both domestically and internationally, who are constantly honing their skills. While it is common to use Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) for AI implementation, our Computer Graphics developers are proficient in handling GPU/CUDA, allowing us to consistently handle projects from AI development to Computer Graphics, which is a unique feature of our company.
We have a particularly strong relationship with medical device manufacturers and are capable of developing software in compliance with IEC62304 in the medical field. While studying in the Department of Intelligent Information Engineering at Osaka Prefecture University’s Faculty of Engineering, Yasukazu Sakamoto studied abroad at the International Institute of Computer Science in France (Grande École). Afterward, he worked as an intern at Anabus Inc. in San Francisco, USA. He then joined Terumo Corporation, where he served in the Cardiovascular Division and the Research and Development Headquarters. Notably, during his tenure at the R&D Headquarters, he engaged in pioneering new projects under the guidance of Biodesign fellows from Stanford University, the University of Tokyo, and Osaka University. He has been with Rokken Inc. since 2022 and was appointed CEO in 2023, a position he holds to this day.

We will experiment repeatedly in order to solve challenges and achieve the technological standards desired by our clients.
02 Software Design Conception
We will complete the design of medical device software incorporating cutting-edge development technologies.
03 Software Product Development
We will implement software based on customer designs and deliver it as a finished product. Throughout this process, we will conduct code refactoring as necessary.
04 Software Testing (Conducting Tests Related to IEC 62304.)
We will create reports in compliance with the medical device-related regulations under the direction of the legal manufacturer.
05 Technology Transfer
We will transfer detailed software program design to the legal manufacturer as part of the technology transfer process.

How long is the development period?
We follow the milestones set by the client. Developing only part of a system can be completed over a short period of time, while an entire system would require a longer timeframe.
How much does it cost?
We will provide a quotation based on the required duration of work and necessary personnel. We can also discuss the scope of work according to your budget.
Can we request partial development,such as only AI development, or only 3D technology development?
Yes, it is possible. We can be flexible and accommodate your preferences, whether it's for a complete system/design implementation, exclusive AI development, or specific element conception requests for 3D technology development.
Can we request prototype development for in-house use or investor proposals?
Yes, it is possible. We can handle urgent projects, such as the development of mock-up products.
Is it okay if we have never outsourced work to a software development company before?
Yes, it is absolutely fine. We will provide detailed explanations about the process and scope of work at the beginning. Additionally, we can discuss specific details after signing a confidentiality agreement if needed.
Can we request your services even if our company is located remotely?
Yes, absolutely. We currently receive requests from clients all over the country. During the development process, we conduct face-to-face meetings or online meetings to ensure regular communication and updates, so that there are no misunderstandings or miscommunications.
Can we request UI design services as well?
As a company specializing in technical development, we do not provide UI design services. However, we can offer information and facilitate collaboration with partners who have a proven track record of joint development with our company.
Can we request development that includes hardware?
As a company specializing in software development, we do not deal with hardware development directly. However, we can provide information and facilitate collaboration with partners who have a proven track record of joint development with our company, including hardware-related projects.
Can you create and develop applications for tablets and smartphones? .
Yes, absolutely. We can handle web development, smartphone application development, cloud system development, and PC software development
Medical devices are a specialized field; are you able to understand the content properly?
We have developers with extensive experience in medical device development. Our development team is especially familiar with interpreting the needs of medical professionals for technical engineers. By meticulously executing the PDCA cycle to achieve what needs to be created, we ensure the delivery of high-quality finished products.
Can we receive the AI model and program you created?
Yes, it is possible. Ultimately, we will provide information on the programand AI model to the manufacturing and sales companies.
